Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth, a Minneapolis orthodontist, has a couple of tips for keeping Invisalign and other types of clear plastic aligners looking good.
Avoid Toothbrush/Toothpaste
Normally, a toothbrush and toothpaste are great for cleaning a variety of appliances, but not in the case of clear, plastic aligners, said Eisenhuth, a Minneapolis Invisalign provider. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – Lots of patients ask about clear brackets when getting braces, but some brands are giving other clear brackets an undeserved bad reputation for staining easily.
It’s true that some brands of less expensive clear brackets become discolored with wear, said Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth, who owns an Eagan and Minneapolis, MN orthodontics practice. Foods such as tomato sauces, soft drinks, coffee, tea and grape juices can discolor some clear brackets over time.
However, there are some quality brackets on the market that do not stain. The Minneapolis, MN orthodontist uses Inspire ICE brackets, manufactured by Ormco Orthodontics. The brackets, made from crystal-clear sapphire, are more stain resistant than brackets made from porcelain or plastic compounds, which can be more porous.

EAGAN, ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – Minneapolis Orthodontist Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth is participating in the Toys for Tots program for the third straight year.
Eisenhuth’s patients have been asked to bring in new, unwrapped toys to donate to the charity, and those who donate will be entered into a drawing to become the Eagan and Minneapolis orthodontics practice’s official spokesperson on Dec. 10 when the toys are delivered to the KARE 11 television station during the afternoon newscast.
“We’re trying to give our young patients more opportunities to be involved in community events,” said Eisenhuth, a Minneapolis braces expert. (more…)
