Adults Can Join Famous Faces with Braces
EAGAN, ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – Believe it or not, we still encounter adults who tell us that they are “too old” for braces.
Imagine their surprise when we tell them that about 20 percent of the patients in our Eagan orthodontics practice are adults. According to the American Association of Orthodontists, about one out of every five orthodontic patients is an adult.
And the less visible and bulky braces get as technology improves, the more adults seem willing to jump on the bandwagon- even famous adults. Colgate’s newsletter, SmileTalk, recently compiled a list of “Famous Faces with Braces.” Actors, musicians and other well-known figures including Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Gwen Stefani, Barbara Walters, Nicholas Cage, Cher and Whoopi Goldberg all have undergone treatment as adults, according to the article. Eagan Orthodontics Practice Sponsors Youth Athletic Programs
EAGAN, ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – The Eagan orthodontics practice of Dr. Eisenhuth is on board as a sponsor again this year for several youth athletic programs.
Eisenhuth has sponsored local hockey, soccer, lacrosse and football programs for several years by offering custom-fitted mouth guards for players and providing check-ups to ensure players’ mouth guards fit properly.
“Mouth guards are a very important piece of safety equipment for children who play contact sports,” said the Eagan orthodontist.
They help protect against chipped or broken teeth, getting teeth knocked out, and they help protect against bone and root damage, according to the Consumer Guide to Dentistry. Mouth guards also help protect players of all ages from getting more serious injuries including concussions, fractured jaws, neck injuries and cerebral hemorrhages by helping to prevent situations where the lower jaw jams into the upper jaw. EAGAN, ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – Members of Eagan, MN Orthodontist Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth’s team attended the Ortho2 User’s Group Meeting in Las Vegas recently.
