EAGAN, ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – The Eagan orthodontics practice of Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth is on board as a sponsor again this year for several youth athletic programs.
Eisenhuth has sponsored local hockey, soccer, lacrosse and football programs for several years by offering custom-fitted mouth guards for players and providing check-ups to ensure players’ mouth guards fit properly.
“Mouth guards are a very important piece of safety equipment for children who play contact sports,” said the Eagan orthodontist.
They help protect against broken or chipped teeth, getting teeth knocked out, and they help protect against bone and root damage, according to the Consumer Guide to Dentistry. Mouth guards also help protect players of all ages from getting more serious injuries including concussions, fractured jaws, neck injuries and cerebral hemorrhages by helping to prevent situations where the lower jaw jams into the upper jaw.
