Eagan Orthodontics Practice Sponsors Youth Athletic Programs

EAGAN, ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – The Eagan orthodontics practice of Dr. Eisenhuth is on board as a sponsor again this year for several youth athletic programs.

Eisenhuth has sponsored local hockey, soccer, lacrosse and football programs for several years by offering custom-fitted mouth guards for players and providing check-ups to ensure players’ mouth guards fit properly.

“Mouth guards are a very important piece of safety equipment for children who play contact sports,” said the Eagan orthodontist.

They help protect against chipped or broken teeth, getting teeth knocked out, and they help protect against bone and root damage, according to the Consumer Guide to Dentistry. Mouth guards also help protect players of all ages from getting more serious injuries including concussions, fractured jaws, neck injuries and cerebral hemorrhages by helping to prevent situations where the lower jaw jams into the upper jaw. Apple Valley Orthodontist Offers Treatment Options for Impacted Molars

APPLE VALLEY, ST. PAUL AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – When a child has an impacted permanent tooth, the obvious solution often is simply to pull the baby tooth to make room.

But when it comes to molars, that solution isn’t always the best option, said Apple Valley Orthodontist Dr. Jennifer Eisenhuth.

Impacted first molars generally become evident around age 6 or 7, as those are when the first molars erupt, said Eisenhuth, who treats patients with this problem at her Eagan and Apple Valley orthodontics practice.

What typically occurs is that the first molars erupt tipping forward, causing them to catch on the primary molar in front of it, she said. Read more >>
